Empowering the Future: Driving Change for Young Women in Mymensingh
To build an inclusive and thriving economy, understanding the unique challenges faced by young women entering the workforce is essential. GRM Consulting Services Limited (GRMCS) took a vital step toward this goal by hosting a comprehensive Team Orientation Session focused on assessing the labor market in Bangladesh’s Mymensingh Division.
The orientation prepared field teams to conduct a specialized assessment: Employability, Vocational Skills Gap, and Gender Responsiveness of the Labour Market for Adolescent Girls and Young Women.
Mapping the Gaps, Creating Opportunities
The upcoming assessment aims to dive deep into the grassroots realities of the Mymensingh Division, focusing on three core areas:
- The Skills Gap: Identifying the disconnect between traditional vocational training and the fast-evolving demands of modern industries.
- Employability Factors: Uncovering the economic, social, and educational barriers that hold adolescent girls and young women back from entering the workforce.
- Gender Responsiveness: Evaluating whether local workplaces and labor markets are safe, equitable, and supportive of female professionals.

Ready for the Field
During the orientation, researchers and field enumerators aligned on data collection methodologies, ethical standards, and gender-sensitive interviewing techniques. By equipping the team with these specialized tools, GRMCS ensures that the data gathered will truly reflect the lived experiences and voices of young women in the region.
The insights from this assessment won’t just sit on a shelf. They will provide actionable, data-driven pathways for policymakers, NGOs, and educators to design targeted training programs and foster a safer, more inclusive economic landscape for the next generation of female leaders.
Stay tuned as we uncover these critical insights and work towards bridging the gap between potential and opportunity!
